City tour. Ushuaia

The enterprise began with the idea of a historical-cultural tour about the epic Welsh Immigration in Chubut. To work on that scheme a Routemaster RM 317 bus was bought, and the refurbishment was carried out for a year: it was equipped with a new heating system, and restored with interiors and an appropriate CD system. The project was declared of historical and cultural interest by the government of the province. We tried to achieve the requisite qualifications, unfortunately they never appeared, due to disagreements among the local government offices.

Since then we considered other cities for the scheme (Salta, Bariloche and Ushuaia), We chose the last one because of its interesting history and its significant increase in tourism. The next stage was to look for the necessary funds to embark the bus, it was not so easy, Ushuaia Double Decker Tour is a family enterprise, with its own funds.

Nowadays the bus has already become a part of Ushuaia´s life. Proof of this, are the numerous opportunities that the bus has appeared in guides and newspapers of Argentina and the rest of the world.
Ushuaia Double Decker Tour has received twice a declaration of historical and cultural interest from the government of Fire land.

In spite of receiving, throughout these years, many offers of diversification, we go on with our policy:TO BECOME SPECIALISTS IN SHOWING THE CITY AND ITS HISTORY.

In this task, we feel extremely responsible because we are not only showing the city to the world, but also and above all, we know that spreading our history, in a society formed mainly by the immigration, we’ll allow the increase of the feeling of the own homeland, and that would be our main achievement.
We are glad to announce that, in 2009, we’re going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our RM 317 with the arrival of a second RM to Ushuaia city.
